As someone whose on the move a lot, Uber/Lyft have become essential apps on my phone. In locations where these rideshare apps are available, the best free tips can come while you’re in the car talking with your driver.

It’s as simple as this!

Not only will this make a less boring trip for both of you, but you also can pick the brain of a (insert location you’re visiting) local.

What are they going to do, not tell you what’s their favorite restaurant/attraction/museum/park etc? Probably not.

For example, here’s a few items I’ve collected from a few rides so far on our current Vegas trip (we plan on doing most of these things).

  1. Jet Skiing at Lake Mead

  2. 52 Peaks

  3. Zion National Park in Utah

  4. Hoover Dam Helicopter Rides

  5. Skiing at Mammoth (5 hours away)

  6. White Water Rapids in Yosemite (5 hours away)

  7. Red Rock (White Pines segment)

Yes, you can get this kind of information from an article, but you’ll also learn about gems like the best time to get in the best daytime pool parties are, arguably, Palms and MGM at 10am Saturday, or that the party bus $75 deals are great value because they go to two clubs AND also allow you to skip the lines (typically hour long on weekends).

Regardless of where you go, just talk to your driver. You never know what information you’ll hear that will be useful for your trip.
